History of the Academy

In 1977, Dr. and Mrs. Schuller saw the need for a private Christian school in Orange County that would excel in academics while also incorporating outstanding instruction in the arts. The Schullers' dream was for a school where young students, K-12 would be encouraged to dream dreams, to receive positive Christian biblical instruction, and excellent academics. Mrs. Schuller has been the vision behind the musical ministries of the Crystal Cathedral, and she has also been the vision behind the school. Both Mrs. and Dr. Schuller envisioned a school that would have a boy choir and a girl choir fine enough to sing on the Hour of Power. Today, almost 30 years later, our choirs are featured regularly of the Hour of Power, many of our students sing solos on the Hour of Power and in the Crystal Cathedral and are the featured child soloists in the Glory of Christmas. In addition, our students are accepted into very selective colleges and universities.
